Alique and Nareg’s wedding was an Armenian celebration filled with family, friends, music and dancing. The couple got married in Los Angeles, California surrounded by over 300 friends and family in attendance. It was important to them to have a traditional Armenian wedding like past generations of their families had had. They were intentional about incorporating traditions paired with contemporary design aesthetics in their tablescapes, floral design, and wardrobe. They were married in Hollywood’s St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic church while standing atop an authentic Armenian rug from Artsakh in the South Caucasus, handmade in 1905, gifted to them by Alique’s maid-of-honor – her sister. The reception was held at Forme LA, a venue with an industrial feel, vaulted ceilings, concrete floors, and floor to ceiling glass doors. Their band played Armenian folk music and KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez spun a variety of sounds during the cocktail reception and party, from classic rock hits by Van Morrison to eclectic Latin Dance tunes by Bomba Estereo. Alique wore a silk “vintage Hollywood” inspired gown by LA-based designer Katherine Tash and a pearl studded veil. Modern table florals and hanging installation designed by Orange County florist Crimson Floral Co featured dramatic mauve tones and architectural elements.
